My story
A lot of people ask me how I got into this work, and why I feel so passionately about it.
So here’s the story.
It might surprise you to learn that in my early 20s I was a trophy wife. I didn’t know any better, and realized before long that I was financially trapped in marriage and life that was not meant for me.
Getting myself out of that situation was terrifically hard. I survived being houseless, stalked by a controlling ex, and having to restart with zero dollars to my name.
In the decades since, I have seen the danger that can befall women who are financially trapped and have quietly helped many of them build the financial footing to make more empowered choices for their lives.
My work is informed by past, but not defined by it.
Today I am on a mission to rebalance the scales of financial justice in favor women and let all of them know — it’s okay to want to make a lot of money.
You deserve to be rich.
You deserve to take Fridays off.
You deserve to put yourself first.
